A group of London's leading restaurateurs and chefs last year formed The Asian Restaurant Skills Board to attract new talent through college courses, work experience placements and apprenticeships.
We are working with government to match our growing demands for skills and talent with the wishes of young people to find a credible and exciting career path.

"When we opened The Cinnamon Club over a decade ago, we brought a raft of talented chefs from India. That was the right thing to do then. Now the right thing to do is to source more locally for the next generation of talent of our world-leading Indian restaurant sector.
We increasingly recognise that successful businesses have a workforce that reflects its customer base. Workforce diversity is a two-way street and this provides a terrific opportunity for young people of all backgrounds to enter a vibrant and growing food sector. Mastara Chef is not a plea for help; it's a way to show you a dynamic route to a successful career."
